About

Project Background

The HLA Serotype Database is a comprehensive resource for HLA serological analysis. Our mission is to provide researchers and clinicians with accurate, up-to-date information about HLA serotypes and their relationships.

Website Programmer

Associate Professor of Pathology, Harvard Medical School; Director, Tissue Typing Laboratory, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA

He is an Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School and the Lab Director of the Tissue Typing Laboratory at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) in Boston, MA. He is board-certified in Clinical Pathology, Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine, and Clinical Informatics, and he is also an ACHI-certified HLA Lab Director. He is co-founder of the Transfusion Medicine Question of the Day. His research interests include red blood cell (RBC) and platelet (PLT) antigen genotyping. In particular, he has developed databases and websites for RBC and PLT antigen phenotype and genotype correlations, along with automated interpretive algorithms for next-generation sequencing and high-density DNA array data. He is also a strong proponent of ABO genotyping in transplantation.
